Wuyuan River Stadium, Sports stadium in West Coast area, Haikou, China
Wuyuan River Stadium includes two lighting towers, two large televisions at each end, with higher seating arrangements on the west side than the east.
The construction of this 41,506-seat stadium started on March 7, 2017, with a total investment of 1.06 billion RMB and completion in April 2018.
In April 2018, the stadium hosted a student bamboo dance performance that established a Guinness World Record with 11,914 participants.
The stadium grounds span 406 acres, with the main structure occupying 60,000 square meters above ground and 20,500 square meters underground.
In September 2024, Typhoon Yagi caused damage to the fabric covering sections of the stadium structure.
