Wuyuan River Stadium, Sports stadium in West Coast area, Haikou, China

Wuyuan River Stadium is a sports venue in Haikou's west coastal area featuring lighting towers and large display screens at both ends. The facility includes seating for approximately 41,500 spectators arranged in sections, with higher positions on the western side.

Construction began on 7 March 2017 and the stadium opened on 28 April 2018, at a total investment of about 1.06 billion RMB. It was Hainan's first Class A stadium and the first milestone built for Haikou's cultural and sports centre. In September 2024 Typhoon Yagi tore away fabric covering part of the top rim.

The stadium's name comes from the nearby Wuyuan River in Xiuying District. Since 2022 it has hosted Chinese Super League matches in Haikou, and since 2024 Hainan and Haikou authorities have promoted the city as an "international performing arts capital", drawing foreign stars such as Kanye West, whose September 2024 listening events brought nearly 80,000 spectators.

The stadium sits on the east side of Xiuying Chang Bin Road, just under 3 km southwest of Holiday Beach; an elevated east–west road running directly south of it has a dedicated exit. The west stand is the covered side with the VIP boxes and the higher rows, while the east side is uncovered. Access ways are wide and clearly marked.

At the stadium's first event on 26 April 2018, 11,914 students from 36 schools in 19 Hainan counties performed a bamboo dance, setting a Guinness World Record that beat the previous mark of 10,736. At 8 pm they formed a giant "Hainan 30" for the province's special economic zone anniversary, before over 15,000 spectators.
