Haikou Volcanic Cluster Global Geopark

The park encompasses 118 square kilometers with more than 40 Quaternary volcanoes, including Mount Fengliung and Mount Baoziling forming a saddle shape.

The volcanic formations in the park date back ten thousand years, while the utilization of volcanic stone by local communities began approximately one thousand years ago.

The geopark integrates geological education with local traditions through programs that connect residents and visitors to the volcanic landscapes and natural heritage.

Visitors can access guided tours, educational programs, and hiking facilities while following strict preservation guidelines to maintain the geological formations.

The park contains distinctive maar craters, which are broad depressions formed when groundwater interacted with hot lava, creating natural laboratories for scientific research.
