Holiday Beach, Hainan

Holiday Beach is a public sandy shoreline along Binhai Road that stretches westward with a generous width from the seawall to the waterline. Water sports facilities, food stalls, and a barbecue section with stone tables occupy the beach area.

The beach area gained official status in 1995 as a recreational zone, beginning organized coastal tourism in western Haikou. This designation spurred infrastructure development and made water sports activities more accessible to visitors.

The barbecue zone draws local families and friends who cook skewered meats and seafood together, making it a social gathering place where people spend their evenings.

The beach is easy to navigate on foot, with distinct zones for swimming, sports, and dining spread throughout. Best to visit during cooler months or early morning when shade options are limited along the open shore.

The site regularly hosts international kitesurfing and beach volleyball competitions, with an amphitheater used for various events. Few visitors realize this is an actual competition venue rather than just a recreational beach.
