Xinglong Station

The research complex contains nine telescopes with apertures larger than 50 centimeters, positioned at an elevation of 900 meters in the Yanshan Mountains.

The National Astronomical Observatories established this facility in 1968, marking China's advancement in astronomical research through independently designed observation equipment.

The station functions as an educational center where students learn about astronomy through practical experience with professional observation instruments.

Located 150 kilometers northeast of Beijing, the observatory maintains regular bus service connections twice per week from the National Astronomical Observatories headquarters.

The facility houses China's first 2.16-meter telescope, which combines optical imaging capabilities with spectroscopic observation functions.
