Discovery Bay Ferry Pier, Ferry pier in Hong Kong

Discovery Bay Ferry Pier is a two-storey ferry pier in Tai Pak Wan on Lantau Island, Hong Kong, near La Costa and Costa Court and opposite Discovery Bay Plaza and the bus terminus. It has berths on two sides and opened in 1982 with the first phase of Discovery Bay. Inside are ticket machines, a customer service centre, toilets, a 7-Eleven outside the gates and a Pacific Coffee inside them.

Discovery Bay Ferry Pier opened in 1982 with the first phase of the Discovery Bay development, as part of the estate's overall master plan. A ferry route to Blake Pier began at the same time; that service now runs to Central Pier 3. The two-storey building has since been fitted with flap-style ticket gates, replacing the earlier turnstile gates.

The pier's name comes from Discovery Bay, the Lantau residential estate it serves; ferries have linked it with Central since 1982, when the first phase of the development opened and sailings to Blake Pier began. Today the crossing uses Central Pier 3, and the two berths sit beside the bus terminus and D Deck food court.
