Citygate Outlets, Outlet mall in Tung Chung, Hong Kong
Citygate Outlets is a multi-level shopping center located in the Tung Chung area, housing nearly 200 retailers across its floors. The facility combines traditional shops with dining spaces and open gathering areas throughout its structure.
The complex opened in 2000 and was rebranded within the first decade to reflect its outlet shopping focus. A major expansion in 2019 substantially increased the retail space and introduced new merchant categories to the property.
The internal piazza regularly hosts art performances and exhibitions that give the space a social dimension beyond shopping. This open area has become a natural gathering point where people meet and spend time between browsing stores.
The center is directly above a metro station, making public transportation access straightforward and convenient. Ample parking is available for drivers, and numerous bus connections link it to other neighborhoods throughout the region.
The complex features a Food Republic concept that brings multiple restaurant concepts into a single shared dining space. Visitors can order from different kitchens and eat together in one location, creating a flexible and casual meal experience.
