Yudong Bridge

The Yudong Bridge is a road-rail structure built from prestressed concrete that crosses the river connecting two districts of the city. The main span measures 260 meters and uses a rigid-frame design to support both vehicle lanes and railway tracks.

The structure was completed in 2008, significantly improving connections between two populated city districts. Its opening demonstrated Chongqing's progress in solving transportation challenges through modern engineering.

The bridge shapes how Chongqing residents move through their city, where river crossings define neighborhoods and daily routines. Here vehicles and metro trains share the same structure, creating a shared space that connects different parts of the city.

The bridge carries six lanes of traffic plus the metro line, so it experiences heavy use throughout the day. Visitors can view it from several vantage points along the river or pass through it while traveling by vehicle or train.
