Huanan Bridge, bridge in People's Republic of China
Huanan Bridge is a suspension bridge in Guizhou Province, China, that spans a deep valley over the Beipan River. The structure stretches approximately 2.9 kilometers long with towers rising more than 200 meters high and suspended by cables over a thousand meters in the main span.
Construction began in January 2022 and the bridge opened in September 2025 after approximately three years of work. Upon completion, it became the highest bridge in the world, surpassing the previous record held by Duge Bridge.
Visitors can take glass elevators and stairs to viewing platforms at the towers or walk on glass pathways below the main deck to look down at the river. Restaurants and cafés are located at various points along the structure, and adventure activities like bungee jumping and hang gliding are available at designated areas.
The bridge links the towns of Liuzhi and Anlong, cutting crossing time from around 70 minutes to just over one minute. This dramatic reduction shows how the infrastructure has overcome isolation in mountainous regions and connects villages that were previously hard to reach.
