Hong Kong SkyCity is a large complex near the airport with hotels, business spaces, and event venues spread across multiple buildings. The buildings feature modern, clean lines and bright lighting that make the interior feel open and welcoming, with numerous shops and restaurants for dining or relaxation.
The complex was built next to the international airport to serve travelers and business visitors. The hotel opened in 2008 and was the first in Hong Kong to offer halal-certified dining, while business areas and a shopping center were added in later phases.
The complex attracts people from around the world who come to shop, dine, or attend events in its various spaces. SkyPlaza operates around the clock and serves travelers at any hour, making it a gathering place for those passing through or staying nearby.
Visitors can reach the complex easily using shuttle buses, the airport express train, or taxis directly from the airport terminal. The proximity to the airport makes it convenient to visit before or after flights, or to spend a few hours shopping or relaxing.
Before the complex was developed, a golf course called Nine Eagles with rolling fairways once occupied this site. The course closed in 2015 to make way for a hotel with more than 1,000 rooms and new shopping spaces, marking a major shift in how the area was used.
