Tomb of Qian Liu, Ancient imperial tomb in Lin'an District, Hangzhou, China
The Tomb of Qian Liu stands on a hilltop in Zhejiang Province, featuring stone carvings and traditional Chinese architectural elements from the Five Dynasties period.
Built in the late 10th century, this burial site belongs to Qian Liu, the founder of the Wuyue Kingdom who ruled the region from 907 to 978 AD.
The tomb contains numerous artifacts including porcelain, gold items, and jade belts that demonstrate the technological capabilities and artistic preferences of the Wuyue Kingdom.
Located 38 kilometers from Hangzhou city center, the tomb site includes maintained pathways and educational displays for visitors interested in Chinese archaeological history.
In 2001, authorities recovered 175 stolen artifacts from the tomb through a large-scale operation that led to the arrest of 39 suspects.
