Ciyun Temple, Buddhist temple in Nan'an District, China
The temple complex includes multiple halls containing Buddhist statues, with the central Mahavira Hall housing an immense jade statue of Sakyamuni Buddha.
Originally constructed during the Tang dynasty between 618 and 907, the temple received its current structure in 1757 during the Qianlong Emperor reign.
The temple maintains the Chan Buddhist tradition of the Linji school, providing a space for meditation and religious ceremonies within Chongqing.
Located at the base of Mount Lion, the temple welcomes visitors without charging an entrance fee and features informational displays about Buddhist practices.
The temple houses one of China's four largest jade Sakyamuni statues, measuring 1.87 meters and weighing 1,500 kilograms, acquired from Myanmar in 1931.
