The Living Bridge, Steel footbridge in Medienhafen, Düsseldorf, Germany.
The Living Bridge spans 150 meters across the harbor basin with a 60-meter central section supported by two concrete pillars.
The construction of the bridge, completed in 2005, cost 5.9 million euros and drew inspiration from historical structures like the Rialto Bridge in Venice.
The bridge features wooden planking resembling a ship deck, with glass railings and white plexiglass cubes that protrude from the surface.
The structure incorporates a three-story restaurant building made of concrete, steel, and glass, supported by piles in the harbor basin.
Light strips embedded in the steps and rectangular illuminated elements transform the bridge into a luminous path during nighttime hours.
