Lasithi Regional Unit, Administrative region in eastern Crete, Greece
This administrative region covers eastern Crete and encompasses mountain ranges as well as flat plains with varied landscapes. It consists of four municipalities - Oropedio Lasithiou, Agios Nikolaos, Ierapetra, and Siteia - each with its own settlement centers.
The area was a center of Minoan civilization with important archaeological finds scattered across several ancient settlements. These early sites show the long history of human settlement in this part of Crete.
