Tête de Cabeau, Mountain summit in Manigod, France
Tête de Cabeau is a 1,658-meter summit in the Aravis mountain range with several rounded peaks and a telecommunications antenna at the top. The terrain is served by various lift systems that connect numerous ski slopes winding through the forested areas of this mountain.
The mountain gained ski lift infrastructure in the 1960s, starting with installations in 1969 and 1972. In 2015, the Poma company installed a modern four-seat chairlift as part of an upgrade.
The orientation table at the summit helps visitors identify surrounding peaks and shows how this place sits within the larger landscape. Local people use this vantage point to understand their mountain geography and seasonal changes.
The summit is best visited on clear days when views extend across the surrounding peaks. Visitors should bring warm clothing and sun protection due to the exposed conditions at this elevation.
The summit sits between Col de Merdassier and Col de la Croix Fry, forming a natural junction between different sections of the Aravis range. This location makes it a pivot point for hikers and skiers moving between different pass routes.
