Tête de l'Aulp, Mountain summit in Manigod, France.
Tête de l'Aulp is a mountain summit in the French Alps sitting between the towns of Manigod and Ugine at 2129 meters high. The peak is reached by a series of walking paths that wind through mountain meadows and alpine terrain.
The mountain formed millions of years ago during the Alpine mountain-building period, shaping the rocky structures visible on the peak today. These ancient geological processes created the landscape that people walk through now.
Local dairy farmers maintain traditional agricultural practices through organizations like GAEC La Tête de l'Aulp, established in 1995.
Hiking trails lead to the summit throughout the year, with conditions varying by season and elevation. Winter may bring snow and require proper gear, while summer and autumn offer easier walking conditions on the mountain.
From the summit you can see two different valleys below: the Fier valley to the west and the Val d'Arly to the east. This location offers views across two separate French administrative regions.
