Mitzpe Aviv

Mitzpe Aviv is a community settlement in the Misgav Regional Council, situated on a hilltop at 134 meters elevation in northern Galilee. The place sits between the towns of I'billin and Tamra, occupying a raised position that defines its landscape and connection to the surrounding region.

The settlement was established in 1981 and takes its name from geographer Avraham Ya'akov Brawer, with Aviv serving as an acronym of his full name. Its creation occurred during a period of regional expansion in northern Galilee, when several small communities were being developed across the area.

In 2009, the settlement modified its regulations to require new members to align with principles supporting Zionism and Israel as a Jewish state.

The settlement is accessible by road and functions as a residential community within the Misgav administrative area. Visitors should note that it is a private community, so most areas are not designed for through traffic or casual visits.

The settlement functions within a larger regional network of 35 small towns, where Jewish communities exist in proximity to Bedouin populations.
