The mansion spreads across one acre of land with 128 rooms distributed over three floors, built using traditional lakhori bricks and lime mortar.
During the Indian Rebellion of 1857, merchant Rai Chunnamal increased his wealth by providing supplies to British forces and later purchased the Fatehpuri Masjid.
The grand living room displays a combination of Indian and Western design elements, featuring Belgian mirrors, European furniture, arched windows, and traditional paintings.
The mansion remains under the care of Anil Pershad, a sixth-generation descendant who maintains the property and allows selected film productions at the location.
The property contains 139 surrounding shops and stands as one of the remaining complete mansions from the 1800s in Old Delhi's commercial district.
