Aali Mosque, Islamic prayer site in Srinagar, India
The mosque spans 1844 square meters with a main prayer hall measuring 61.2 by 20.5 meters, supported by 151 wooden columns on carved stone pedestals.
Sultan Ali Shah constructed the mosque in 1395, though some historical records indicate it may have been built in 1471 during Sultan Hassan Shah's reign.
The structure incorporates Central Asian architectural elements with local Kashmir wooden construction methods, featuring a hypostyle design that emerged from Iraq.
The mosque remains an active religious center, located near Eidgah with open land on three sides and Ali Jan road to the east.
Each of the 151 deodar wood columns, measuring 0.95 meters in girth, rests on individually designed stone pedestals with different carved patterns.
