Jogulamba Gadwal district, Administrative district in Telangana, India
Jogulamba Gadwal district is an administrative region in Telangana with rolling terrain that includes river valleys and farming areas throughout the landscape. The region is divided into twelve administrative subdivisions that function as local governance centers.
The district was created in 2016 following the division of Mahabubnagar district, which represented a major reorganization of administrative boundaries in Telangana state. This separation resulted in the formation of a new independent administrative region.
The Jogulamba temple serves as a sacred place where people come together during the Jatara festival each year to honor the goddess Shakti. The gathering reflects the spiritual beliefs that shape daily life and community bonds in the region.
The region is best reached by car or regional buses, as connections across the district are reasonably developed. Visitors will find that Telugu and Urdu are the main languages used in daily interactions with locals.
Local weavers in the region produce Gadwal sarees, which are known for their intricate handwoven patterns and striking color combinations. This traditional craft has been passed down through generations of families living here.
