Mrugavani National Park, National park in Ranga Reddy district, Telangana, India.
Mrugavani National Park sits in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana, roughly 20 kilometers from the center of Hyderabad. The protected area covers about 3.6 square kilometers and includes forested sections, open grassland, hundreds of plant species, and a population of around 350 spotted deer.
The area received national park designation in 1994 to protect the native plants and animals of the Hyderabad region. This recognition marked an important step toward preserving the natural environment and its inhabitants.
The park maintains educational facilities including a library, museum, and auditorium where visitors learn about local wildlife conservation and environmental protection.
The park offers safari rides that allow visitors to see animals up close in their natural surroundings. A watch tower provides an elevated spot to observe wildlife and take in the surrounding landscape.
The park is one of the few places near Hyderabad where southern tropical dry deciduous forests remain in a relatively natural state. Seasonal rainfall influences how the vegetation appears and how active the animals are throughout the year.
