Mondulkiri Province

Mondulkiri Province spans 14,288 square kilometers of mountainous terrain with dense forests, red laterite hills, and substantial vegetation covering 80% of its territory.

King Norodom Sihanouk established Mondulkiri Province in 1960 by separating the eastern part of Kratie province, leading to the creation of Sen Monorom as its capital.

The province maintains a strong tribal presence with 80% of its population belonging to ten different minority groups, primarily the Bunong people who practice traditional agriculture.

The province contains five administrative districts: Kaev Seima, Kaoh Nheaek, Ou Reang, Pechr Chenda, and Senmonorom Municipality, connected by a network of developing roads.

The temperature in Mondulkiri remains lower than other Cambodian regions due to its elevation of 800 meters, with Phnom Nam Lier peak reaching 1,078 meters.
