Gocheok Sky Dome, Baseball venue in Guro District, South Korea.
Gocheok Sky Dome is a baseball venue in Guro District, Seoul, with a retractable roof and seating for more than 16,000 spectators during sports matches. The facility can hold up to 25,000 people for concerts.
The arena was built between 2009 and 2015 and took over the role of the former Dongdaemun Stadium, which had served as Seoul's main baseball facility. Construction cost around 240 billion won.
The name comes from the neighborhood where the venue stands, linking the building to its local setting. Below ground, art bookstores offer visitors a chance to browse titles before or after an event.
The nearest subway station is Guil, exit 1, and several bus lines stop nearby, including blue routes 160, 600, and 662. Green buses such as 5626 and 5712 also offer direct connections.
In March 2024, the venue hosted the first official Major League Baseball regular season game on South Korean soil, when the Los Angeles Dodgers faced the San Diego Padres. This event drew global attention to the arena and expanded its role beyond the domestic league.
