Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park, National park spanning mountains and desert in Ömnögovi Province, Mongolia.

Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park covers varied terrain with sand formations, mountain ranges, and valleys stretching across southern Mongolia. The landscape includes several distinct zones with different geology and vegetation.

The park was created in 1993 and expanded to its current boundaries in 1998 to protect geological features and fossil sites. The expanded designation reflected growing recognition of the area's scientific importance.

Herding families live within the park and continue practices shaped by the landscape for centuries. Their daily life follows the rhythms of seasons and animal migrations across the land.

Access is through Dalanzadgad, which can be reached by air or road from the capital. Visitors need permits and should prepare for varied terrain, extreme temperatures, and limited services within the park.

The Khongoryn Els sand dunes emit a humming sound when wind sweeps across them, a phenomenon found in few places on Earth. This acoustic effect happens because of the unique texture and mineral composition of the sand grains.
