Al Akhdar Mountains, Mountain range in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate, Oman.

The limestone formations of Jebel Akhdar stretch 80 kilometers in length and 32 kilometers in width, reaching elevations of 2,980 meters above sea level.

The mountain territory witnessed a significant conflict from 1954 to 1959, known as the Jebel Akhdar War, between Omani forces and Saudi Arabian-backed rebels.

The Bani Riyam tribe maintains traditional agricultural practices through falaj irrigation systems, enabling crop cultivation across terraced landscapes throughout the mountain range.

Visitors require a four-wheel drive vehicle to access the mountain area, and must present documentation including driver licenses and insurance at the checkpoint gate.

The mountain's Mediterranean microclimate supports the growth of Damask roses, which local farmers harvest to produce rose water through traditional extraction methods.
