Northern Borders Province

The Northern Borders Province spans 111,797 square kilometers of arid desert terrain along the borders with Iraq and Jordan, containing four major governorates.

The province developed from traditional Bedouin territories into an administrative region, marking a transition from nomadic patterns to established governance structures.

Local residents maintain traditional craft production and agricultural practices that reflect generations of knowledge about survival in desert conditions.

Three domestic airports and an extensive road network of 98,011 kilometers connect the province's communities, facilitating transportation across the region.

The province contains 7 percent of global phosphate reserves, with the Wa'ad Alshamal industrial city serving as a major chemical production center.
