Arjeplog Municipality extends across 14,494 square kilometers of northern Swedish territory, containing numerous lakes, streams, and three major rivers: Pite, Skellefte, and Lais.

The region began as a Sami village in 1636, followed by the establishment of a church in 1640, and transformed into a municipality through the 1874 Swedish administrative reforms.

The Silver Museum, established in 1965, preserves local mining artifacts and maintains an extensive collection of photographs documenting Sami traditions and regional heritage.

The municipality offers financial incentives of 100,000 kronor to families and 25,000 kronor to individuals who choose to settle in the region.

The area contains Lake Hornavan, the deepest lake in Sweden, which freezes during winter and maintains cold temperatures throughout summer months.
