Považský Inovec

Inowetz is a mountain range in Hlohovec District built on limestone with several marked trails winding through oak and beech forests. The highest point, Inovec peak, reaches 1042 meters and serves as the main landmark for hikers exploring the area.

Tematín Castle ruins from the 13th century stand high above the Váh river valley, marking an important medieval presence in the region. This fortified stronghold played a significant role in controlling the valley and shaped human settlement patterns for centuries.

Visitors find themselves walking through an area where locals and travelers appreciate the diverse plant life and rock formations that shape the landscape. The mountain trails pass through different forest types that reflect the region's natural character.

Marked hiking routes of varying difficulty connect to nearby public transport stations for easy access to the mountains. Sturdy footwear is recommended as the terrain can be uneven and muddy, especially after rainy weather.

The Great and Small Dolnosokolská Caves tunnel through the mountain with natural limestone passages that can be explored on foot. These underground chambers took thousands of years to form as water slowly carved through the rock.
