Selendi

Selendi covers 726 square kilometers of land in western Turkey, positioned at an elevation of 431 meters above sea level in the Aegean region.

The area was previously known as Silandus, an ancient settlement near a tributary of the Hermos River, which later became a diocese under Roman rule.

Selendi maintains connections to both its Roman Catholic past and current Islamic influences through its religious structures and community practices.

The municipality contains 57 different neighborhoods, each utilizing the postal code 45970 and operating under the administrative oversight of the district government.

With a population density of 26 inhabitants per square kilometer, Selendi represents one of the more sparsely populated districts in Manisa Province.
