Bığbığ Ivy, Protected climbing plant in Meydan Yaylası, Turkey
The Bığbığ Ivy extends over 20 meters in length with a trunk circumference of 2.30 meters and features a broad canopy reaching 21 meters.
The ancient climbing plant, officially registered as a natural monument in June 1994, dates back approximately 4000 years in the Adana Province of Turkey.
The Ministry of Environment and Forest maintains this natural monument through the Directorate-General of Nature Protection and National Parks as part of Turkey's ecological heritage.
Located at an elevation of 1,222 meters in the Aladağ district, the protected area surrounding this specimen encompasses 154 square meters of monitored space.
This Hedera helix specimen stands among the 112 designated natural monuments in Turkey, representing one of the oldest documented climbing plants in the region.
