Harmankaya Canyon Nature Park

Harmankaya Canyon Nature Park is a protected area in Bilecik Province featuring sheer limestone cliffs that rise roughly 300 to 600 meters above the canyon floor. The gorge cuts nearly 4 kilometers through the landscape, with walls that create a dramatic, enclosed passage.

The canyon was officially established as a protected nature park in 2012 to preserve its geological formations and the surroundings of nearby villages. This designation came as Turkey expanded its network of conservation areas across the country.

Three traditional villages border this protected area, and local residents have shaped their way of life around the natural landscape for generations. The canyon remains intertwined with how people here relate to their environment.

The park can be accessed through two entry points near local villages. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and be prepared for uneven terrain and changing weather conditions typical of canyon environments.

The park features multiple waterfalls of varying sizes fed by seasonal water flows and runoff. These cascading falls create natural pools that hold water and add to the landscape's changing character throughout the year.
