Solomianka Raion

Solomianka is an administrative district in western Kyiv that spreads along a river basin with numerous residential blocks, schools, and transportation centers. The area houses a major railway station, a second railway terminal, and an airport, making it a key transit hub.

The area grew from Solomianka village, which joined Kyiv in 1858, and became an administrative district in 1921 as the city expanded. This transformation from rural outpost to modern urban zone took place over several decades.
