Ozone Falls, Natural waterfall in Cumberland County, United States
Ozone Falls is a waterfall in Cumberland County, Tennessee, where water plunges roughly 110 feet into a natural pool surrounded by stone formations. These rock formations create an amphitheater-like setting that frames the cascading waters within the Fall Creek system.
The waterfall was known as McNair Falls in the 1800s before being named after a local miller who operated a grist mill near the cascading waters. This early industrial activity shaped the area for decades.
The natural setting of Ozone Falls served as a filming location for Disney's 2016 live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book movie.
The site has steep stone steps, so visitors should wear sturdy footwear with good traction for safe navigation. Bringing plenty of water is important, especially on warmer days.
The sandstone formations around the waterfall were pushed upward by continental drift more than 300 million years ago. This geological history remains visible in the rock layers today.
