Termez Archaeological Museum

The Termez Archaeological Museum holds more than 27,000 objects gathered from digs in the region, including ancient weapons, coins, household goods, and Buddhist sculptures. The collection also contains stamps and other artifacts that document the area's past.

The museum opened in 2002 to mark the 2500th anniversary of Termez, showcasing objects from the Greco-Bactrian and Kushan periods. These eras reveal how the city remained a significant place across many centuries in Central Asia.

The displays feature the mural of the Princess of Tokharistan and miniature models of ancient sites that help visitors understand how the cities of this region once looked and functioned. These works reflect the importance of Termez as a major trading hub in Central Asia.

The museum is located on At-Termeziy Street and welcomes visitors throughout the day with extended hours. The galleries are clearly marked, making it easy to navigate through the collections at your own pace.

The collection includes an ivory chess piece from Dalverzin Tepe, revealing the sophisticated craftsmanship that existed in this region long ago. The museum also preserves ancient perfume vessels and wall paintings with colors still visible after more than 1000 years, offering rare glimpses into artistic methods of the time.
