Bolívar Park, Public park in Miranda, Venezuela.
Bolívar Park is a public green space in Municipio Sucre, Miranda, with walking paths, exercise areas, an artificial lake, and plantings of native species. It sits next to Francisco de Miranda Park, connected by Independence Bridge.
The park was created in recent decades as a public recreational space for the surrounding neighborhoods. It was part of an urban effort to bring more open green areas to a densely populated part of greater Caracas.
The park is named after Simón Bolívar, the hero of Venezuelan independence, which gives it a symbolic weight that locals feel during national holidays. On weekends, families and neighbors gather here to walk, play, and spend time together outdoors.
The park is reached via Independence Bridge, which links it to Francisco de Miranda Park, and there is a large on-site parking area for those arriving by car. Visitors on foot will find the entrances clearly accessible from the surrounding streets.
A former control tower inside the park has been turned into a café, and from its upper level, visitors can see El Ávila mountain in the distance. From the same spot, the Soto sphere is visible along the nearby highway, a round sculpture by Venezuelan artist Jesús Rafael Soto.
