Vĩnh Thạnh

Vĩnh Thạnh extends across 410 square kilometers of land at an elevation of 5 meters above sea level in the Mekong Delta region.

The district received its official establishment in May 2004 through Decree No. 05/2004/ND-CP, marking a new phase in regional administration.

The population of 162,759 residents maintains agricultural traditions through farming practices and fishing activities in the fertile Mekong Delta lands.

Three high schools serve the educational needs of the district, with Vĩnh Thạnh High School in Thạnh An Town accommodating over 1,200 students.

The district consists of two central towns and nine communes, each contributing to the local agricultural output of the Cần Thơ region.
