Damlataş Cave, Natural limestone cave near Cleopatra Beach, Alanya, Turkey
The cave interior extends 50 meters in length with a 15-meter-high cylindrical cavity, containing numerous stalactites and stalagmites formed over 15,000 years.
Workers discovered the cave in 1948 during quarry operations for Alanya Harbor construction, leading to immediate geological studies and public access.
The name Damlataş derives from the Turkish words for dropping stone, reflecting the continuous water drips from the cave ceiling formations.
The cave maintains a constant temperature of 22 degrees Celsius with 95 percent humidity, offering visitors relief from summer heat.
Medical professionals supervise asthma treatments in the cave, where patients spend four hours daily for 21 days breathing the mineral-rich air.
