Makhtal mandal is an administrative region in Narayanpet district in southeastern Telangana, situated at an elevation of 340 meters (1,115 feet). The area spans across agricultural land and smaller settlements distributed throughout the mandal.
The region underwent significant boundary changes in 1905 when it received several villages from Narayanpet. Simultaneously, a large portion was transferred to Yadgir in Gulbarga district, shaping its current borders.
The Padamati Anjaneyya Swamy Temple houses a remarkable statue of Hanuman that stands upright without any additional support. Visitors from surrounding districts come throughout the year to experience this sacred site.
