Li Po Chun United World College, school in Wu Kai Sha, Hong Kong
Li Po Chun United World College is an international secondary boarding school set on a hillside in the Sha Tin District of Hong Kong. Students from many countries live on campus together and follow the International Baccalaureate programme.
The school was founded as part of the United World Colleges movement, a global initiative that promotes peace through education. It is one of the few campuses in Asia belonging to this network, which was born in the 1960s in the United Kingdom.
The campus reflects a multicultural environment where students from different countries live and study together. This diversity shapes daily activities and interactions visible throughout the grounds.
The campus sits on a hillside above Sha Tin and can be reached by public transport from the town center. Because it is a residential school, access for outside visitors is limited and should be arranged ahead of time.
The school takes its name from Li Po Chun, a Hong Kong businessman whose family provided the support that made the campus possible. Without that private backing, the project would likely never have taken root in Hong Kong.
