Ikspiari, Shopping center at Tokyo Disney Resort, Japan
Ikspiari is a shopping center at Tokyo Disney Resort in Maihama, Japan, grouping around 150 shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues across several floors. Walkways and open courtyards connect the levels, with wide corridors easing movement between sections.
The first buildings opened in September 2001 as part of Tokyo Disney Resort's expansion to offer visitors more entertainment outside the theme parks. A year later, in July 2002, an additional section was added to broaden the range of shops and restaurants.
The name comes from the word inspiration combined with a Japanese suffix meaning place to be. Visitors walk through zones with neutral tones and open sightlines, designed to feel international rather than tied to local tradition.
Access is direct from Maihama Station, so travelers do not need to walk far to reach the ground floor. Shops usually close at 21:00, restaurants often stay open an hour longer, and international guests can use the tax refund service at the information desk.
Unlike other shopping areas at Disney resorts around the world, this complex operates without an official Disney Company license and does not sell branded merchandise. Still, it sits only a short walk from the park gates and attracts day visitors as well as travelers shopping before or after their park visit.
