South Bačka District

South Bačka District is an administrative region in northern Serbia containing eleven municipalities centered around Novi Sad, which sits on the Danube River. The area mixes urban centers with rural land devoted to farming, and includes various industrial facilities and residential communities.

The region experienced various periods of rule, including Bulgarian-Slavic influences in the 9th century, before taking its current administrative form in 1992. The shifts in boundaries and governance reflect the complex history of Southeast Europe.
