Spinning Dragons

Spinning Dragons is a steel roller coaster located at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Missouri, manufactured by Gerstlauer. The ride spans 1,345 feet of track and reaches speeds of 31 mph at a height of 54 feet.

The ride opened in 2004 as a replacement for the former Orient Express attraction, bringing a new type of coaster design to the park. This installation represented an investment in updated ride technology for the facility.

Each car spins freely as it travels through the track, meaning no two rides feel quite the same even for the same person. This spinning mechanism is what sets the ride apart from traditional coasters that keep their cars fixed in one direction.

Each car holds four riders seated in two rows, with multiple cars running at the same time to keep lines moving smoothly. Guests should expect a fairly quick experience since the coaster operates with continuous capacity.

The coaster features a steep 50-degree drop angle that feels more aggressive than its modest height might suggest. This design choice makes the initial descent feel sharper and more thrilling than riders typically expect from such a short ride.
