Orient Express, Steel roller coaster at Worlds of Fun, Kansas City, Missouri.

The Orient Express was a steel roller coaster at Worlds of Fun with red tracks, two interlocking vertical loops, and a 100-foot tunnel entrance. The ride stretched for about one kilometer and reached speeds around 50 miles per hour.

The ride was built in 1980 by Arrow Dynamics and operated as a major attraction for over two decades. Operations ended in 2003 when rising maintenance costs made it no longer viable to keep running.

The roller coaster design included a 100-foot tunnel entrance and dual interlocking loops, making it a central attraction at Worlds of Fun for 23 years.

The ride could transport up to 28 passengers per dispatch using three trains with seven cars in a double-row seating arrangement. This capacity allowed the park to move guests through the attraction efficiently.

The ride introduced the Kamikaze Curve element, a 90-degree lateral ascent followed by a half-loop, an innovative move in roller coaster design. This maneuver set it apart from other rides of its era.
