Boya Pagoda, Octagonal pagoda at Peking University, China.

Boya Pagoda is an octagonal tower at Peking University that rises approximately 37 meters with 13 stories and a square base. A spiral staircase winds through the interior, providing access to the upper levels.

Built in 1924, the structure originally functioned as a water tower and was funded by James Porter. It was named in honor of his nephew Lucius, a philosophy professor at the institution.

The walls feature artwork depicting scenes from Chinese mythology and history. These pieces reflect the meeting of Eastern and Western architectural approaches.

The tower is located in the eastern section of the campus near Weiming Lake, making it easy to find from most areas. Visitors can use it as a reference point for orienting themselves throughout the university grounds.

The tower appears on the official seal of Peking University and is featured in materials representing the institution. It has become one of the most recognizable symbols associated with the campus.
