Beijing Organizing Committee for the 29th Olympic Games, Olympic Games organizing office in Xueyuanlu Subdistrict, China.
The Beijing Organizing Committee was an institution that coordinated planning and execution of the 2008 Summer Olympics held in the city. It managed venue preparations, volunteer coordination, and all logistical requirements for the international sporting event.
The committee was founded in December 2001 and began operations from a hotel before relocating to a purpose-built office building. After the Olympic Games concluded in 2008, its primary mission ended and it was gradually dissolved.
The committee structured thirty specialized departments to handle international relations, sports coordination, and community engagement throughout Beijing and surrounding regions.
The building was not open to the public during the preparation phase, as it operated as a secure administrative center. Today it exists primarily in historical records and Olympic movement documentation.
The institution employed several thousand people in various roles, creating one of the largest temporary organizations for a single sporting event. Many of these staff members continued in related positions in Beijing's sports development after the games.
