Main Library West Section

The Main Library West Section is a multi-story building at Tsinghua University housing reading rooms and research areas for different academic subjects. The collections are organized by subject and include both printed materials and digital resources.

This section was developed as an expansion of the university library, which has supported teaching and research since the university's founding in 1911. Over the decades, the building was enlarged and updated to meet growing academic needs.

This section functions as a meeting space where students from different departments work side by side and discuss their projects. The layout encourages both collaborative study and individual focus.

Access is available during opening hours from Monday through Sunday, with computer terminals, printers, and individual workspaces available throughout the building. Visitors should bring their student ID or valid library card to use the collections.

The West Section houses specialized collections of scientific manuscripts and technical documents that are particularly valuable for engineering and technology research. These rare holdings draw researchers from around the world who work on cutting-edge projects.
