Main Library West Section, Academic library at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China

The Main Library West Section is a multi-story building at Tsinghua University housing reading rooms and research areas for different academic subjects. The collections are organized by subject and include both printed materials and digital resources.

After the Cultural Revolution, Tsinghua's library was so crowded that seats were hard to find, so in 1982 the university commissioned architect Guan Zhaoye to design an extension. The foundation stone was laid on 21 May 1988, funded by HK$20 million from Run Run Shaw plus 9.4 million yuan from the university and the Ministry of Education. The west building opened in September 1991 and was named Yifu Hall.

This section functions as a meeting space where students from different departments work side by side and discuss their projects. The layout encourages both collaborative study and individual focus.

Access is available during opening hours from Monday through Sunday, with computer terminals, printers, and individual workspaces available throughout the building. Visitors should bring their student ID or valid library card to use the collections.

In a student vote for "My Favourite Tsinghua Building" held soon after completion, the Yifu Building took first place with 2,575 votes. It was also named one of Beijing's Ten Great Buildings of the 1990s and received an award from the Architectural Society of China.
