Sheikh Zayed Palace Museum, Former royal residence museum in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates
The Sheikh Zayed Palace Museum is a royal residence in Al Ain with residential quarters, meeting rooms, and gardens arranged within a traditional Arabian architectural complex. The building now contains exhibition spaces showing how the family lived there.
The building was constructed in 1937 and served as the home of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's family until 1966, when they relocated. Its conversion to a museum occurred in 2001.
The rooms display how the royal family lived daily, with traditional floor cushions in Arab reception areas and European furniture in spaces for foreign guests. This mix shows how rulers bridged two different worlds.
The museum is easy to reach and offers generous indoor space with air conditioning for comfortable visits on hot days. The areas are clearly marked, making it simple to navigate independently and explore all the rooms.
The museum displays a replica of the Sheikh's favorite Land Rover, showing his personal attachment to this vehicle. Alongside it sits a large tent that symbolizes the family's deep connection to Bedouin roots.
