Kv62, Ancient royal tomb in Valley of the Kings, Egypt.

Kv62 is a royal tomb in the Valley of the Kings made up of several chambers serving different purposes. The site includes an antechamber, a central burial room, a treasury room, and an adjoining chamber that held thousands of objects from Pharaoh Tutankhamun's era.

Archaeologist Howard Carter discovered this untouched tomb in 1922, bringing to light one of ancient Egypt's most significant legacies. The find showed that the tomb had escaped looting for millennia and preserved a complete collection of objects from a pharaoh's life.

The walls show religious paintings of Egyptian gods like Ra, Osiris, and Anubis guiding the young pharaoh through the afterlife. These images were meant to help the dead king continue his journey in the next world.

The tomb has set opening times and visitors should familiarize themselves with access conditions for the different chambers. The rooms can be tight and require patience to explore, so wearing comfortable shoes and allowing plenty of time for your visit helps.

Water and mud that covered the tomb over centuries sealed it off practically from intruders and looters. This natural preservation allowed fragile objects and materials to survive that would have otherwise been destroyed long ago.
