Vsetín District is an administrative area in the Zlín Region of eastern Moravia, spanning a large territory. It is characterized by forested mountains, river valleys, and agricultural areas, and contains 59 municipalities grouped around the towns of Vsetín, Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, and Valašské Meziříčí.
The territory was administratively restructured in 2000 following the dissolution of the North Moravia region and became part of the Zlín Region. This administrative reform consolidated several municipal structures under a new regional governance system.
The municipalities here maintain Moravian traditions through regular folk festivals, music performances, and craft demonstrations. Visitors can experience traditional craftsmanship and cultural practices that shape generations of inhabitants in the region.
