Frisco Silver Dollar Line, Heritage railway in Silver Dollar City, Branson, Missouri
The Frisco Silver Dollar Line is a narrow-gauge railroad that winds about 1.5 miles through the Silver Dollar City theme park grounds. The train passes by various railroad buildings and structures that mark the landscape of the park.
This railway debuted in 1962 and stands as one of Silver Dollar City's oldest attractions. It uses original materials and components salvaged from the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway, which once served the region.
The train ride features performers acting out a traditional Western-style robbery, recreating scenes that connect to the railroad heritage of the American frontier.
The ride lasts about 20 minutes and offers a relaxed way to explore the park grounds. Children under 4 feet tall must be accompanied by an adult during the journey.
The railway operates four active steam locomotives from a total fleet of seven, each with different histories and characteristics. These working steam engines are a rare example of functional steam technology still operating in a theme park setting.
