Petaling District

Petaling District is an administrative area in Selangor containing three major cities: Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, and Subang Jaya. The region has dense residential neighborhoods, shopping centers, and office complexes linked by roads and rail systems.

The district was established in 1974 and transformed from agricultural land into an urban center over the following decades. This shift created multiple residential and commercial zones that reshaped the entire landscape.

Multiple ethnic communities live here with their own traditions visible in neighborhood shops, temples, mosques, and street food stalls. The mix of different religious buildings and local celebrations creates a diverse social fabric throughout the area.

The region is well-connected by roads and rail systems that make it easy to travel between residential areas and business districts. Multiple entry points and transportation options help visitors reach different parts of the area.

The area experienced one of the fastest population increases in Malaysia, with its resident numbers multiplying several times between 1991 and 2020. This rapid growth is visible in ongoing construction projects and constant infrastructure expansion.
